When I was 14 years old my dog BJ won first place for obedience in a kid’s dog show.
The prize was a brownie camera. My dad then helped me build a darkroom and my career as a photographer began!
Through the years I have studied all aspects of photography with many excellent teachers. I have spent a good part of those years concentrating on fine art photography (much of it as seen through the lens of the plastic camera called a Diana F) and have exhibited extensively in galleries throughout New England and in Puerto Rico.
For the last ten years or so my concentration has shifted and I have discovered the creative wonderfulness of shooting weddings and events. I feel I have a real knack for getting people to relax and enjoy the experience of being photographed. I like the challenge of bringing out the natural emotions in people as I unobtrusively and creatively cover an event.
I am always happy to customize a package that works best for you. Please feel free to call. Direct communication can go a long way in guiding the process and making sure that you receive the photo memories that you are hoping for!
Other Passions :
As important to me as photography, is being involved in the creation of a more compassionate and sustainable future for all who inhabit this planet. With that in mind, several years ago I founded the organization Juntos www.juntosvieques.org which seeks to promote the humane treatment of all animals by strengthening the human-animal bond through educational awareness, outreach and direct community participation.
We have succeeded in bringing a humane education program into the school system of Vieques. And I am proud to say that it is making a tremendous difference on this beautiful island that I have called home for 24 years. We are helping to raise a generation of empathetic, solutionary thinkers!
